Jeff Seward asked:

When it comes to golf apparel, you really have many choices available. What to wear isn’t always first on the golfer’s mind, but choosing the right golf apparel can make a difference in playing well and playing not so well. It’s true!

Many golf clubs have rules as to what golf apparel is acceptable on their course. This usually means no tank tops or short shorts, all players must wear shirts with collars, and no jeans are allowed. Other courses are less restrictive in their clothing and you can choose what you want to wear as long as it is tasteful.

Generally male golfers will wear khaki pants and a collared polo shirt. In warm weather, fitted shorts are generally permitted as part of the golf apparel. Most men will also opt for a hat to keep the sun out of their eyes.

Golf apparel for women, however, can run the gamut. Golf skirts are very popular for female golfers because they are less restrictive, but others opt for shorts or loose pants. Polo shirts are also worn by women - some sleeveless polos are also allowed on upscale courses. Women tend to opt for visors to keep the sun away although hats are another option.

When choosing your golf apparel, you should take care that the clothing is not too restrictive. You will want plenty of room to move around because your golf swing depends on your body moving in a fluid, smooth motion. There’s nothing worse than clothing that is too tight - especially on the golf course.

When choosing pants or shorts, it’s convenient to have pockets. Many golfers like to have pockets so they can carry golf tees, divot fixers, ball markers, and even extra balls, although we don’t recommend the latter as it can throw off your swing quite a bit.

You will want to choose clothes that are made of lightweight, breathable fabrics - especially if you golf primarily in cold weather. Many manufacturers of golf apparel know this and keep it mind during production, so it shouldn’t be difficult to find clothing like this.

You can find adequate golf apparel in many places. Golf course pro shops will carry specific lines of golf clothing that will conform to their dress code, but they will be a bit more expensive than buying them in a store. Find a golf store and you will find a great selection of golf apparel to choose from. Finally, you can get some great deal on golf apparel on the Internet in many, many places, often at discount prices.

The ball strikes the fairway a horizontal distance of 200 m from the tee. Assume the fairway is level. (a) How high is the rise above the fairway? (b) What is the speed of the ball as it strikes the fairway?

I got bored with all the “super car crashes”-videos here on YouTube that only contained PICTURES, CRAPPY MUSIC or/and clips of pure racing cars on official racing events. This compilation DOES NOT include pure racing cars on official racing events - only real life FAILures on the STREETS, made by people with more money than driving skills… (Though, even the best car drivers can crash too of course.)

Dr Shade asked:

Is there anything worse than KILLING A DRIVE, thinking you have knocked the cover off the ball, only to watch it slice 100 yards out of bounds! This frustrating golf shot causes a lot of anger among amateur golfers, and many respond with unusual techniques to fix it! Some golfers will aim 100 yards to the left of the fairway, thinking that it will slice back into the middle of the fairway. Of course, this action rarely works.

Many golfers put the driver in their bag, and stick to irons and fairway woods. While this is effective for some, do you really need to sacrifice the 50-100 yards that a driver can give you?

Today we are going to learn one key thing to look for in your swing that you may be doing wrong. This tip will help you learn how to correct a golf slice, and can be implemented into your game immediately!

Gripping the Club Correctly

Yes, the grip can be reason you’re slicing the ball! There are a wide variety of test, techniques and instructions that you can follow, to correct a slice. But if your grip is wrong, none of them will help.

The first thing to do is to make sure that you are holding the club with the correct amount of pressure. On a scale of 1-10, how tight are you holding it. Some golfers have a grip that is extremely loose. This makes it impossible for them to control the golf club throughout the swing. Other golfers do the opposite and have such a tight grip that they cut the ball severely and send their ball off on any number of different possible trajectories. Having an even amount of pressure is the first step in correcting a slice.

Here’s one way to make sure your grip is working. Insert two golf tees between your thumb and the webbing of your hand while gripping the club. If the tees point toward the target, than your weak grip is a typical slicer’s mistake. Make sure both tees are pointing straight in front of you. If they are, than you are gripping the club with the proper amount of force.

Also, When you grip the club, make sure the the “V’s” made by your thumbs and forefingers are both pointing back to your right shoulder area, and both the “V” of your left hand, and the “V” of your right hand should be parallel.

Learning how to correct a golf slice is never easy, but if your grip is causing the problem, the fix can be quick and permanent! Remember, your hands are the only part of your body that ever touch the club, so it is crucial that they touch the clubs correctly.

I hope this tip has fixed your problem.
